Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, also known as Ashanti was born on 13 October of 1980, in Glen Cove New York United States. She is a performer and singer of the United States. Ashanti became famous as an teen and became signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. That same year she appeared on Fat Joe's What's Luv? And Fat Joe's What's Lulv? The songs of Ja Rule include Foolish (number number one) and What's Luv! What's Luv? In this post, we'll celebrate with you the day of her birthday. Ashanti Douglas, or Ashanti as she's often referred to was born in Glen Cove New York in 1980. Tina Douglas, her mother is a retired dance instructor. Ken-Kaide Douglas is her father. Kenashia Shia is her older sibling. Douglas chose the name Ashanti to honor Ghana's Ashanti Empire which was a place where women ruled and had influence. Douglas wanted Ashantis to adopt this same model. James was her father. He worked as the civil rights leader alongside Martin Luther King Jr. during the 1960s. Her mother was aware of her daughter's talent when she heard her singing Mary J. Blige's Reminisce. Ashanti was an actor in the child stage as Spike Lee's Malcolm X and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? Ashanti has also been featured in several music videos. This includes K.R.S. - Act One's "MC's as if they don't" and 8-Off Ghetto girl. After being approached by record label including Bad Boy and Jive, Ashanti found it difficult to establish herself as a singer who was successful. The singer continued to tour on stage in New York, and spent time at Murder Inc. studios hoping to land a major break. Ashanti initially appeared on the track of Big Pun's We Roll as a backing vocalist. Additionally, she was featured in Fat Joe's "What's Luv?" Ja Rule's "Always on Time" as well as Fat Joe's "What's Luv?" were also featured. Her debut single Foolish contains a sample from DeBarge's song from 1983, Stay with Me. Ashanti has released her debut self-titled album in 2002. The album was on Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. label. The Declaration is Ashanti's fourth studio album, was released on June 3, 2008. On the 16th of October Hey Baby (After the Club) came out to the radio and online outlets. Also, she was in the movies Christmas in the City, Army Wives and Latasha Monteclair. Her track Rock wit U was sampled by British artist Aitch for his track Baby on 10 March 2022.
